Following the 25th International InkriT Conference on 05/18–05/21/23, the first Marxist Spring School “Beyond the Horizon(s): Marxism on Sexual Fantasies, Drugs, and Eurocentrism” will take place in Berlin from 05/23–05/25/23. What was Marx’s position on drugs? What are Marx’s and Marxist’s views on eroticism and sexuality? Is it justified to call Marx a Eurocentric thinker? We will debate these questions together with Emanuela Conversano (Monopoli), Henrique Carneiro (São Paulo), and Paul Reynolds (Lancashire). From 4–6 pm texts on each topic will be discussed in small groups, instructed by members of the InkriT junior research group. From 7–9 pm, the speakers will give a talk on their current research with focus on their keywords in the HKWM followed by a general discussion. Food will be provided for the participants of the discussion groups between 6 and 7 pm.
The group discussions are in English and German, respective texts will be distributed to the participants in advance. The evening events will be held in English.
Registration for the discussion groups is required by 05/15/23 under springschool@inkrit.org. The evening events can be attended without pre-registration. The event will take place at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, Straße der Pariser Kommune 8a, 10243 Berlin.
The Spring School is an initiative of the project “Internationalization of the Historical-Critical Dictionary of Marxism (HKWM International*)”, organized by the InkriT junior research group with kind support by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
